Reporter 8.5

Includes TripleFusion and Mapping Capabilities

BOSTON MA, USA -- FLIR Systems, Inc has announced the addition of FLIR's TripleFusion enhanced Picture in Picture (PIP) capability, and Global Positioning System (GPS) mapping support to its report generating software, Reporter version 8.3.

FLIR's Reporter software allows infrared camera users to quickly and easily create professional and customized reports, useful in evaluating and communicating infrared inspection results.

"The Reporter software's enhanced imaging capability has been a big help creating reports with images that clearly show the problem. My clients don't have to be trained in infrared to see what is going on in the blended infrared and digital images," said Richard Hale, Vice President of The WassHale Group.

With TripleFusion and Reporter 8.3, users can easily superimpose a smaller infrared image inside a visible light photo.

Reporter 8.3 users can even move and size the PIP anywhere in the photo to show the right level of detail. Reporter 8.3 also has exclusive interval and blending fusion to help make images in reports more discernible and compelling. Another feature of Reporter 8.3 is that it takes advantage of the productivity features of FLIR's new P660/B660/SC660 infrared cameras.

These new cameras have built-in GPS capability. A FLIR P660 customer, for example, can click on the Google™ Maps icon located within the Reporter 8.3 image to view the Google Maps satellite picture. This allows users to easily add maps, directions, longitude, latitude, and altitude readings to reports.

Similar to earlier versions, Reporter 8.3 is a Microsoft(R) Word based solution, which makes it intuitive and easy for users to create reports using spell check, formatting, and the templates customized for the FLIR reporting application. See Specifications: Datasheet PDF

Trending helps track thermal information of infrared surveys to help with predictive and preventative maintenance plans. Other advanced features include digital zoom, color palette changes, automatic conversion of reports to Adobe .pdf format for easy emailing.

FLIR offers a number of high-quality, affordable cameras suitable for a wide-variety of applications.

   ThermaCAM® Researcher™ 2.9

Evaluate Thermal Performance in Real-time with Powerful, Real-Time Digital Storage and Analysis Software

At FLIR we recognize that finding and solving thermal problems often requires more than producing the best infrared cameras. Engineers designing products or performing thermal tests often need to see more than just thermal anomalies, they have to be able to quantify and monitor heat patterns resulting from extremely fast or minute temperature changes. That's why we've developed ThermaCAM Researcher, a powerful Windows-based infrared software package that provides detailed, precision analysis and measurement tools for capturing, recording, and studying extremely high speed thermal events.

ThermaCAM Researcher digitally stores, retrieves and analyzes live infrared images directly from ThermaCAM S, A, and SC Series IR cameras. Whether you're evaluating static IR images, live IR video sequences or dynamic high speed thermal events, there is a version of ThermaCAM Researcher software available to help you manage thermal performance and develop cost-effective design solutions.

ThermaCAM Researcher Software Suite includes:

  • Researcher Basic for studying images or sequences stored to the camera's PC Card.
  • Researcher Professional for real-time image analysis and data storage.
  • Firewire interface for connecting the new A and S Series cameras directly to a PC's Firewire port.
  • Frame Grabber interface for connecting SC-Series cameras (e.g.: SC-2000, SC-500, etc.) to a PCI frame grabber on a desktop PC.
  • PC Card interface for connecting SC-Series cameras (e.g.: SC-2000, SC-500, etc.) to a laptop using a PCMCIA socket.

ThermaCAM Researcher is the most flexible, powerful digital storage, measurement and analysis package available.

FLIR QuickPlot and FLIR ResearchIR - visualizes thermal patterns

R&D software for entry to mid-level R&D applications

Infrared cameras are successfully used in R&D applications to speed up and verify the design process, as well as enabling fast, non-invasive and precise detection of deficiencies. With R&D software the benefits and use of an infrared camera can be further extended and allow more in depth analyses to be made.

FLIR QuickPlot and FLIR ResearchIR are aimed at R&D users of infrared cameras wanting to get an understanding on thermal events for design, product or process.

Recording thermal patterns for analysis

One of the more common R&D applications is testing how different materials are impacting the heat dissipation/performance of a device. The software helps with visualizing thermal patterns by creating time-temperature plots of the event, exporting plots in standard picture and data formats (csv, bmp, jpg), and allowing them to be analyzed afterwards. This is particularly beneficial for industrial R&D and automation activities, process control as well as for corporate R&D.

QuickPlot-ResearchIR

    Features & Benefits

  • Analyze and store heat flow in real time – just take an IR image
  • Speed up your design tests, validation and verification
  • Visualize thermal patterns in real time
  • Non-invasive, Non-contact
  • Visualize multiple measurements in one image
  • Export plots in standard picture and data formats (csv, bmp, jpg)
  • File organizer with Quick Collection and Preview of sequences (1)
  • Zoom & Pan functionality for closer examination of an object (2)
  • Multiple user configurable tabs for live images, recorded images or plots

FLIR QuickPlot

FLIR QuickPlot  allows the user to visualize thermal patterns, to record and store thermal image sequences for later retrieval, and to create time-temperature plots for further analyses.

Application examples - FLIR QuickPlot

  • Monitoring of a car’s exterior temperature pattern in climate test chamber.
  • Monitoring of surface temperature on devices when loading conditions are changed, for example power supplies, cooling devices and moving mechanics.

FLIR ResearchIR

FLIR ResearchIR has been developed for more advanced users that need to monitor more agile or transient thermal events. FLIR ResearchIR visualizes thermal patterns and allows recording with advanced start/stop recording capabilities; including pre and post- recording, as well as storing images at high speed.

The program also allows post processing of recorded IR-image sequences of fast thermal events and has an unlimited number of analyze functions, including Spot, Line/Poly-line, Area and Ellipse.
