ThermalStar® Blower Door
The ThermalStar - Blower Door is the next part of the
system. The Blower Door consists of a light weight aluminum
expanding frame, heavy duty fabric cover (fitted bed
sheet style), a powerful fan with a variable speed controller
and carrying cases.
The Blower Door allows the trained ThermalStar energy
inspector to verify the integrity of the air barrier
of a building envelope. The Blower Door allows for controlled
depressurizing of the building showing up air leaks around
windows, doors, penetrations, trim and anywhere else.
This also helps determine Indoor Air Quality issues.
This Infrared image (above left) shows air leaking around
an exterior door frame. Air leaks like this can add
up to serious energy loss and yet once known, they
are easy to seal.
