ThermaTrak in actionThe software must be installed on your camera and your account activated prior to a theft or loss. Connecting the camera or the flash memory card to a computer with internet access triggers the software to communicate with our server transparently via an encrypted connection, even circumventing many common firewalls.

One-time activation required at Service Center In order to activate the service, your camera’s firmware must be updated in our service center. In addition to the update, our staff will setup your account and load the agent onto your camera.

How does ThermaTrakTM work? ThermaTrak is the first-ever patented theft recovery system for IR cameras and FLIR exclusive. It is available by annual subscription service through FLIR. It can also be used as an asset management system to track multiple cameras used in the field.

ThermaTrak software embedded in the IR camera tracks the IP address,hostname, and even the Internet service provider (ISP) being used after the IR camera has been lost or stolen and is connected to the Internet.

How do I use it to keep up with multiple cameras? Just leave the tracking activated and each time one of your cameras is connected to a computer with internet you will get an email with a link to the updated report.

How will new cameras be covered? New orders for P6XX, B6XX and SC6XX after July 1st 2009 will include a 1 yr ThermaTrak subscription. New T&B cameras can have the service added for $299.

What about other models of FLIR Cameras? FLIR Systems is currently testing a technology that will allow us to deploy ThermaTrak to more of our camera platforms. Support for the “i” and “b” 40/50/60 camera models is coming soon.

Will you take care of getting my device back?No. Currently the ThermaTrak service is available to provide you information only. We are not affiliated with any law enforcement agency, nor are we attorneys. We provide information that may assist you and law enforcement officials in the recovery of the device. Also keep in mind that sometimes the device may have been sold to an innocent party, so the information sent to you may not always identify the location of someone who has stolen your camera.

My device was stolen but it was not registered with you, can you help? Sorry, but in order for us to track a device and assist you, the device must be registered on the site and the software files properly installed before the device goes missing. We however suggest that you file a police report as well as register the device with our partner JustStolen.net www.juststolen.net, their stolen goods repository is shared across many law enforcement agencies.

Will the agent be blocked by firewalls? With ThermaTrak, most firewalls are

not an issue.

Is ThermaTrak 100% guaranteed to work if my device is stolen?Currently the agent will only work on Windows systems. However given that only Windows is supported by FLIR’s software and today accounts for more than 91% of the market, the odds are high that the camera will be plugged into a Windows system to be usable. The agent requires an internet connection to connect to the server.
